Digital Warfare @ Insomnia 61
From the 24th to 28th August, Digital Warfare made huge leaps for it’s expanding empire, as our cohort headed to Insomnia 61 at Birmingham’s NEC. It wasn’t just the alluring environment and quirky gamers that enticed them, it was the chance to entice new people and a shot at the League of Legends Intermediate tournament.
Digital Warfare was approached by multiple groups of people looking to join. This involved rosters that focused on League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, Hearthstone and CS:GO. We’re looking to support and develop of these new players and staff members.
By entering the League of Legends intermediate tournament, D-War’s EUW LAN team went head-to-head against the other participants, and took #2 place leaving compelling victories in their wake. This achievement was a positive outcome and will be added to the team’s ever-growing successes. This was the first time the EUW LAN team had used this roster at a LAN event and it encouraged detailed conversations about the progress and opportunities it can make and take in the future. As a staple mark team of D-War, we can use this outlining roster as a template for the teams we are forming going forward.
“The Digital Warfare staff and players are definitely some of the most passionate players we've met when it comes to having fun with eSports, they have a diverse set of personalities and do a great job representing their brand as a whole. I am definitely looking forward to crossing paths with D-War at a LAN event once again and I would love to work with them closely whenever I get the chance.”
This event helped to put D-War firmly in position to settle teams and grow its core management. It was also a great opportunity for us to introduce Cameron #, our new head of marketing to the sponsors and teams.
“The event was a great success and gave us the opportunity to further establish ourselves at Insomnia as a serious eSports business. Across the team we have competed at many events in Birmingham and it’s important to position ourselves as the alpha team ahead in this growing city.”
